Meet The Baker

Hello, my name is Ann Zalla and I'm the social entrepreneur behind Baker & Blossoms!

I grew up in Kentucky, working weekends on our family farm in Walton. Being exposed to farm work at an early age taught me a few things. Most importantly, what it means to work hard while working in tandem with nature.

Many years after earning a BA in Journalism, I decided to attend culinary school. As it turns out, I actually enjoy physical labor! So I began working in bakeries to gain hands-on experience and practical knowledge. Later I decided to move to Charleston, South Carolina. A charming city, with a highly competitive culinary scene with some of the most talented chefs in the southeast. After completing the Food2Market course through Clemson University, I was inspired to start this company. Baker & Blossoms is a blend of my farm and bakery experiences coming together, to deepen my love for nature (especially flowers) while inspiring my creativity.
